A NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION OF PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED VOLUNTEERS
- ABOUT US -
Lincolnshire Lowland Search and Rescue (LincsLSAR) is a member unit of Lowland Rescue. We are part of the UK Search and Rescue Operators Group, alongside Mountain Rescue, Cave Rescue, HM Coastguard and RNLI.
Lowland Rescue covers everywhere "from hill to high water".
We primarily cover the county of Lincolnshire, but we also regularly assist neighbouring teams.
What Do We Do?
LincsLSAR exists to search for vulnerable missing persons
and to assist the emergency services in the event of a medical incident, a casualty search or natural disaster. We conduct searches in both urban and rural areas, in association with Lincolnshire and Humberside Police. Lowland Rescue has 35 teams nationwide, which provide an average of 800 operations a year and has over 1800 professionally qualified volunteers.
Who is a vulnerable missing person?
A vulnerable missing person includes the following:-
- a person living with dementia
- a missing child
- a despondent / suicidal person
- a person living with autism
- a person with mental health issues.
In each case, an emergency response is vital.
Who Are LincsLSAR?
We are a non-profit organisation relying entirely on our own fundraising. We receive no government funding or subsidies and are a registered charity. All of our members are unpaid volunteers who provide their services free of charge.
How Can You Help?
We are actively recruiting for new members, in both operational and non-operational roles. For more information, please refer to "Join The Team" on our website. Also, any donationsto our organisation are gratefully received.
